MANIPUR:
The streets of Manipur witnessed a gathering of agitated students, most of them classmates of the late Luwangbi Linthoingambi Hijam, on September 26, demanding justice for their slain classmate whose life was tragically cut short during the recent ethnic violence that shook the state.

However, the protests soon encountered resistance from the authorities. Videos of the protest have emerged on social media, capturing scenes of the police using tear gas and resorting to force to disperse the students.
One social media user, while sharing the videos wrote,’These are unarmed students! Classmates of Linthoinganbi. They are out in the street to protest asking for justice. And this is how they are treated?? These videos are the testimonies of your failed governance! We will not remain silent anymore! Manipur will not remain silent. We will fight back.’
