Nongpoh:
Deputy Chief Minister and in-charge Public Works Department (PWD) department Prestone Tynsong on Tuesday inaugurated the 10-meter bridge and black topping road connecting Umsaitsning to Umdamli and Umsmu village under Umsning C&RD Block in Ri Bhoi District.
The much awaited project came as delight to the local residents who had been eagerly waiting to get better road connectivity.
The deputy chief minister was accompanied by MLA Jason Sawkmie Mawlong, MDC Magdalene Sawkmie Mawlong, PWD Umsning Sub Division Executive Engineer Rymphang Kharkongngor, Block Development Officer of Umsning C&RD Block Raja Brahma among others.
The construction of the PWD road connecting Umdamli to Umsmu was sponsored through the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF 25) NABARD at the estimated cost of rupees 2.80 crore.
