The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Shillong conducted a Financial Literacy Quiz for students of Classes VIII to X in five blocks of West Garo Hills district – Rongram, Selsella, Dalu, Gambegre and Tura Urban, on Wednesday, at Hotel Polo Orchid, Tura.
The quiz aimed to promote financial literacy among youth and to create a financially aware and empowered India. Topics covered in the quiz included banking, financial sector, economy, and G20 fora.
Around ten schools from various blocks of West Garo Hills district participated in the quiz. The winners were felicitated with trophies, while participation certificates were given to all participants. The top three winners were awarded cash prizes of Rs 5,000, Rs 4,000, and Rs 3,000 respectively.
The winners from the respective blocks will compete at the respective district level and the quiz will culminate at the National Level after District, State, and Zonal Levels. The participants and the teachers from the respective schools in West Garo Hills appreciated the RBI’s endeavor in conducting the quiz.
