Having won the toss, Bihar elected to bat, however, both openers Babul Kumar (0) and Kumar Mridul (12) could not stay at the crease for long, courtesy Abhishek who bowled Babul on the very first bowl of the match and Akash Kumar picking up Mridul in the fourth over.

SHILLONG:

The third match of the plate group Ranji Trophy match between Meghalaya and Bihar witnessed the visitors closing the day with 247/7 here at the MCA Cricket Ground, Polo, Shillong, on December 27.

Meghalaya bowlers struggled from the very start against the solid Bihar batting line up who scored consistently without giving the seamers much opportunity to topple the high order.

Despite early wickets, Meghalaya could not hold on to their bowling as Sachin Kumar Singh and S Gani both took the third wicket partnership to 159, before Sachin was bowled for 52 by Shaisngi. Gani, who was still at the crease till stums with the score of 52, was assisted by Bipin Saurabh who scored a brilliant knock of 107 to take the score beyond 200 for Bihar.

For Meghalaya, R B Bishnoi Jr again displayed good bowling by picking up 4, assisted by  Abhishek, Akash Kumar, and Shaisngi who picked up 1 wicket each.

With 3 wickets still left, Bihar will start the second day tomorrow with Gani and Shivam S Kumar at the crease at 247/7.
