The third recital cum annual concert was held by the Rhythm School of Music at the District Auditorium on Sunday evening.
The event was graced by the presence of Swapnil Tembe, Deputy Commissioner, West Garo Hills, Dolrich Berin G Momin, Additional Deputy Commissioner, West Garo Hills, parents of the students and other dignitaries.
The Rhythm School of Music was founded by classical guitarist Titto D Sangma with the aim of producing skilled musicians who will be recognised the world over.
Chief guest Tembe told the gathering that after all the years he spent in Garo Hills, he has recognised the musical talent that people have. He added that he is going to do his best to promote the music and musicians in the region.
The crowd witnessed performances by the students of the school, who showcased their skills on different instruments such as keyboard, ukulele, guitar and others. A special performance was also given by Rhema Daniel Rocha, who has been a participant in the reality TV show The Stage and is a music teacher at G. D Goenka school in Delhi.
The Health and Wellness Centres in Meghalaya have provided over 60,000 tele-consultations services within a year, which is the second highest number among the North Eastern states. Similar recognition for the state level health workers will be done soon.
