Rs 2.10 lakh fake currency notes seized from Indo-B’desh border; one held

The BSF detained one racketeer and one e-rickshaw from the bordering villages Ghewmari under Dharmshala police station in Assam’s Dhubri district.

GUWAHATI:

In its crusade against Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN), troops of 19 Bn Border Security Force (BSF), under Guwahati Frontier, apprehended an Indian FICN racketeer along with FICN having a face value of Rs 2,10 lakh from Indo-Bangladesh international border, on May 20.

“Based on intelligence input, a special operation was carried out by the troops of 19 Bn BSF and detained one racketeer and one e-rickshaw from the bordering villages Ghewmari under Dharmshala police station in Assam’s Dhubri district,” said a BSF spokesperson.

The apprehended person along with FICN was handed over to the police for further action, he said.
