SHILLONG:
A security personnel, Rishanlang Muktieh (25), lost his life after being electrocuted near Umiam bridge under Mawlai Police Station on January 28 around 5:30 in the evening.
Deployed for repair work on the Umiam bridge, Muktieh was reportedly collecting firewood near a transformer of ITD Cementation India Limited at Umiam when he accidentally came into contact with an electric wire, leading to electrocution.
Despite being rushed to Shillong Civil Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.
