The Seng Samla Iewmawlong, on July 15, felicitated 30 students from the area who passed their Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) and High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examinations with flying colours.
At the event, the chief guest, Jason S Mawlong, MLA 11-Umsning constituency, praised the initiative taken by the Seng Samla Iewmawlong to inspire students to work hard and achieve great things in life.
“As youth, you should have strong determination. You must set yourself a goal and achieve it through your hard work,” Mawlong said.
Apart from the students, the Seng also felicitated Anastasius Ryndongsngi and Maximilius Ryndongsngi, who had won medals in weightlifting at the Meghalaya games, and Edilbert Ryndongsngi, who had bagged a gold medal at the National Muay Thai Championship conducted by the United Muay Thai Association India (UMAI) in Madhya Pradesh recently.
Apart from Mawlong, the event was attended by office bearers of Seng Samla Iewmawlong, students and parents from Iewmawlong.
