Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong

SHILLONG:

Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong, on April 10, said that though there are lot of challenges in place for the Shillong-Dawki Road project, however the government will try to complete the project as early as possible.

“We have lot of challenges even with the land owners where we need to convince them, discuss with them, and it takes a lot of time doing that because you see the land acquisition system in Meghalaya is different, so we need to discuss with all the stakeholders, but of course even the NGOs they need to understand this is the lifeline of the state, and must not interfere in the project,” Tynsong said.

Tynsong also maintained that so far the government has not received any complaints from the NGOs in this regard, and if they do so, the government can always discuss the matter with them.
