Shylla elected as UDP youth wing prez

SHILLONG:

Cabinet Minister Kyrmen Shylla has been elected as the president of the United Democratic Party (UDP) youth wing at the general meeting of youth wing on Monday.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, he was confident that the party will be able to increase its number in the next general election which will be held in 2023.

He said, “It is not about winning or losing the election but we will try to come back in 2023. If we work hard, me and my colleagues will come back. We will continue as a team. Even if we lost the election also, we do not mind working for the party and it is our duty to serve the party. We will try to increase our numbers.”

He observed that people will be able to see changes with the increased participation of youth in the party.

As for the party’s plan in Garo Hills, Shylla said that have an MDC in Garo Hills, Ashahel D Shira. “In future, we will work hard and we still have more time and will reach out to each and every corner in the state to increase number. I believe that in 2023, our party will lead the government,” he said.
