Breaking new grounds, Fashion Society Shillong is all set to introduce the Ms Supermom beauty pageant, dedicated to single mothers, as a part of the prestigious Miss Shillong 2023 Beauty Pageant on its grand 40th Anniversary Celebration at U Soso Tham auditorium on October 14 at 4 p.m.
The Ms Supermom pageantry seeks to highlight single mothers as supermoms—strong women who bravely confront life’s storms while pursuing their goals and aspirations—in recognition of the great obstacles they endure. They are inspired to regain their forgotten goals and start anew by this energising forum.
The prestigious Miss Shillong 2023 Beauty Pageant, is set to take place after rigorous auditions held two months ago, selected aspiring contestants have undergone intense training in speech, catwalk, and personality development in preparation for this dazzling event.
The winners of Miss Shillong 2023 will be honored with designer crowns and substantial cash prizes of Rs. 1 Lakh, Rs. 75,000, and Rs. 50,000 respectively, while the Ms Supermom winner will receive a designer crown and a rewarding cash prize of Rs. 50,000. Sub-title winners in categories like Miss beautiful eyes, Miss beautiful skin, Miss beautiful hair, Miss beautiful smile, and Miss catwalk will also be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 5,000 each.
The evening promises a traditional sequence, a dance choreographed by Ribha War Lyngkhoi, and a grand finale choreographed by Chris Kurbah and Naphisa Pala.
Adding a musical flair to the celebration, Fashion Society Shillong will also showcase the talent of Liza Lyngdoh, a guitar maestro originally from Mawkyrwat and presently teaching music in Bangalore.
