After a gap of almost 3 years, the office of the traditional head of Raid Marwet through the Sohjer Committee has decided to organise the traditional ritual event Sohjer festival from January 17 to 20 at 9 Mile, Baridua village in Ri Bhoi district.
Informing about the same to media persons, traditional chief of Raid Marwet, Ken Syiem informed that during the festival prayers are offered to the God for bountiful harvest throughout the year.
He informed that the Sohjer Festival could not be observed since 2020 due to the Covid-inducted lockdown, but this year, the office of the Raid Marwet will revive the festival with various rituals and offer prayers through the Basan and different traditional dances.
Different competitions and entertainment programmes will be organised during the the festival, he informed.
