SHILLONG:
The newly constructed cum widening of PWD road from the main gate of Sankardev College connecting New Kenches Trace and Lawsohtun PWD road was inaugurated on Tuesday.
The stretch of road, which was inaugurated by South Shillong legislator Sanbor Shullai, was sanctioned under SPA PWD scheme, for an amount of Rs 1,45,28,000.
The function was addressed by Kyrsoi Bok Nongbri Rangbah Shnong and members of the Dorbar Shnong Lumshatsngi Kenches Trace and other local leaders who lauded the initiative of Shullai. They thanked Shullai for bringing developmental schemes from various departments for the betterment of South Shillong Constituency.
The Monitoring Cum Implementation Committee in collaboration with the Dorbar Shnong of Lumshatsngi Kenches Trace, organised the inauguration which was attended by officials of PWD Department, Traffic police department, members of Srimanta Sankerdev cultural centre, members of MCIC, members of BJP South Shillong Mondal and resident of Lumshatsngi Kenches Trace.
Members of the Srimanta Sankardev cultural Centre were also felicitated for donating their land to construction and widen the road. Vote of thanks was given by Venus SS Pamthied Secretary Dorbar Shnong Lumshatsngi Kenches Trace.
