State arm wrestlers who represented country in Turkey felicitated

Of the 10 participants, three of them won medals for the country in various categories, with Magaret Pathaw winning a gold medal in left hand category and silver in right hand category.

SHILLONG:

The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) and the Ri Bhoi District Sports Association (RBDSA) felicitated the 10-member arm wrestling team from Meghalaya who represented the country in the World Arm Wrestling Championship held in Turkey from October 12 to 22.

The 10-member squad who brought laurels to the country and the state were welcomed by a colourful display of dance and music at Indoor Hall, Nongpoh, where the KSU felicitated them in the morning, and later on they were greeted by the RBDSA at Umsning Town Dorbar.

Of the 10 participants, three of them won medals for the country in various categories, with Magaret Pathaw winning a gold medal in left hand category and silver in right hand category. Likewise, Alexander Lyngdoh won silver in the under 80 kg senior men category. Mary Khunsyiem Umlong won silver in 60kg women category.
