SHILLONG:
Members of the State BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) on Sunday celebrated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 73rd birthday.
The programme commenced with cake cutting by National Vice President Chuba Ao, in the presence of state office bearers, district office bearers, Mahila Morcha members and Yuva Morcha members at the State BJP Office.
Addressing the function, Chuba Ao shared PM Modi’s dedication for the people of the country, adding that his vision is leading the country to success as most leaders today believe in Modi.
Modi’s birthday was also celebrated in other districts including Regional office Tura.
It may be mentioned that the BJP has declared September 17 to October 2 as a fortnight programme for the needy. The Prime Minister has also launched a new scheme for small craftsmen and artisans called the PM Vishwakarma Scheme on the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti, which aims not only to help financially by providing loans at a minimal interest rate but also to keep alive and rich the tradition, culture, and versatile heritage of past centuries through local products, art and sculpture.
The scheme is being funded by the Centre with an outlay of Rs 13,000 crore.
