The state unit of BJP applauded the Centre’s announcement of Rs 200 per cylinder cut in prices and called it yet another example of how the BJP-led government in New Delhi is constantly working towards helping the common man. BJP state president, Ernest Mawrie said the move will have an immediate impact on every Meghalayan’s domestic budget and will make day to day living much easier.
He also pointed out how this was just another addition to a long list of people-friendly steps that the central government has taken over the last nine years.
Mawrie also said this move was a gift from the Centre to the women of India and the state, ensuring that every upcoming festival becomes so much more joyful.
With this decision, citizens will now get a cylinder for around Rs 900, while the nearly 9.6 crore PM Ujjwala scheme beneficiaries will get it for around Rs 700.
