The Meghalaya BJP Mahila Morcha has condemned the incident of a tribal woman being paraded naked in Congress-ruled Karnataka.
The incident comes several months after the one in BJP-ruled Manipur when two Kuki tribal women were paraded naked and one of them was allegedly gang-raped.
In a statement, Sukhi Pariat, president of Meghalaya BJP Mahila Morcha commented, “The Meghalaya BJP Mahila Morcha strongly condemns this inhuman action meted out to a tribal woman. This atrocious attack on the dignity of women goes against all norms of civilised behaviour and is painful for every right thinking citizen, it also reflects the plight of defenceless women in Congress ruled states. The state Govt. needs to take responsibility for encouraging such lumpen elements and a medieval mind set, the perpetrators must be brought to justice and rule of law must prevail.”
“We the women of BJP find it particularly difficult to accept such incidents which have now become signature of every Congress ruled state. Ours is a party that makes a tribal woman the president of India and chooses a tribal as the Chief Minister of a mainland state. On the other hand, we have parties like Congress whose parochial thinking ensures women and tribals are not safe in areas under their governance. I request the voters to teach the Congress a lesson during the coming Lok Sabha elections. As Prime Minster Modi says ‘Congress Mukt Bharat, an India free from Congress, must become reality”, she concluded.
The BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda has strongly condemned this heinous act and has constituted a five-member fact-finding committee to visit the incident site. The committee will submit its report to him at the earliest.
