SHILLONG:
The Meghalaya government is preparing a note for the cabinet to discuss the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) as the National Law Commission has sought views of the state government on its implementation.
Speaking to reporters on July 18, Cabinet Minister, Ampareen Lyngdoh said that the commission has sought views and observations of the state, though she is yet to see the documents.
Lyngdoh said, “I was told that the law commission has sent to us for observations, and we are preparing a note for the cabinet to discuss the same.”
