NONGPOH:
The Suchiang clan, on May 19, expressed their concern claiming that an individual has repeatedly misused the clan’s name for personal gains.
Identifying the person as Phermandes Mawsynbai of Mawroh in Nonpoh, the governing body of the clan said that the Mawsynbai has misused the clan’s name by organising football tournaments at Saiden and Umjarasi village in Nongpoh without prior permission and knowledge of the clan.
General secretary of Kur Suchiang, Ri Bhoi district, Henry Suchiang, and Ibrosta Suchiang, president of Nongpoh Unit, informed that the clan has strongly condemned Mawsynbai’s action and by seeking donations and sponsors from groups or individuals for the events, he has tarnished the clan’s name.
Suchiang clan has therefore given Mawsynbai, a week’s deadline to clarify his actions and failing to do so will lead to legal action against him.
