SHILLONG:
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Tuesday said surveys were being carried out for proper demarcation of the boundaries of Meghalaya and Assam.
“Surveys are being done and different agencies are involved…so we are waiting for those surveys to be done,” Sangma told reporters.
He further informed that the two state governments are also waiting for the call from the Centre to finalise the border agreement for six of the twelve areas of difference.
He said he would convene a meeting with stakeholders to discuss the inter-state boundary issue on Wednesday.
On January 29, Sangma and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had finalised the border agreement at their level on the first six areas of difference.
