How incredible it is to hear Kyntiewlin Mawphniang sing for a farmer and to support farmers in her most recent song, U Nongrep, which was released on November 3, 2022.

The daily challenges that a farmer confronts and the suffering that goes unseen behind his labour are the subjects of U Nongrep. “It depicts the story of a farmer who, in order to avoid futility, gets up before dawn and travels to the field to accomplish his daily responsibilities while carrying a wadded bag of cold rice,” Kyntiewlin told The Meghalayan.

“Whether in the hills or the meadows, there is sowing and reaping. The farmer only wants to live a fulfilling life in the market, in a world where many people aspire to live luxurious lives and rule the world,” she added.

U Nongrep, which loosely translates to “The Farmer in a Hamlet,” was written by Kyntiewlin Mawphniang and produced by DBRYN Records. Wanstar Thabah, Pynshongdor Warlaitthma, Annie Kharlyngdoh, are the other team members who assisted the directors of photography.

Kyntiewlin expressed her satisfaction with the team and the farmer she worked with, stating that it was an honour to do so and that she would eagerly welcome the opportunity once more in the future. She added that she appreciated DBRYN Records’ hard work and that she had a good time working with them.

Kyntiewlin began singing at the age of seven, and at the age of twelve, she began playing the guitar. On her difficult journey to becoming the person she is now, she had numerous highs and lows as well as challenges and barriers. Although she has periodically considered giving up, her goals in following her aspirations prevented her from doing so easily. I can do it, she thought as she leaped to her feet.
