The Confederation of Ri Bhoi People (CoRP) led by its president, Bandari Ryntathiang along with working president, Pateng Myrsing met the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR) on Wednesday regarding the termination of three local workers from the institute.
The confederation received complaints of the termination and demanded from the authorities to reinstate the three locals who were terminated without any valid reason.
After the meeting with the officers of ICAR, Ryntathiang said that this is not new and it was done in the past by ICAR without any specific reasons. The president added that the termination will hamper their future and livelihood.
Ryntathiang stated that after the meeting with the CAO, it was assured that a meeting will be called to discuss on the termination of the local workers.
The confederation added that if the demand is sidelined, the institute will be closed down.
