R&B and Hip Hop are his forte and all he aspires to achieve in his career, is to give a taste of his beloved music to his audience.

SHILLONG:

After making Bollywood star Alia Bhatt and fashionista Masaba Gupta shake a leg to his background score in a television commercial campaign in October last year, Edilbert aka Shane Kharbuki is back, and how! After making thousands groove to his music, the R&B singer-songwriter has released yet another “sweet” single, titled, Honey.

‘’I figured it was time to release a song after so long and felt a connection to Honey,’’ says Shane. The song, the artiste says, is about highlighting positivity in relationships. And, he feels, he has been able to churn out the near-perfect formula to make this one surpass his past hits.

“It will ‘swirl like a pot of honey, slow and addictively sweet’. The old-school beats, coupled with an addictive hook, this one has some intricacies for the listeners,” he says. He even claims that with Honey he has somewhat manged to touch an “universal note” and the song will “be a part of a new wave of things to come”.

For the Shillong-based multifaceted artiste, R&B and Hip Hop are his forte and all he aspires to achieve in his career, is to give a taste of his beloved music to his audience, but wrapped in a new avatar. ‘’I aspire to show the world my taste in music, and reach the people through my words and my voice,’’ said Shane.

When it comes to collaborations with other artistes, Shane shared a long list of names including  Stunnah Beatz, DJ Meban, Adl X Kly, StephC Baby, Bryxn, Ved, Romez, Leo Boys, Dappest, and Josh, among others and recently, took the stage by storm at the Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival performing alongside DJ Meban, Alex Rozario and Rajat aka Krag.

As they say, if charity begins at home, so does everything else. Though an upcoming artiste, Shane’s short but bright career has been supported by 76 Keys of 18 Studio – a studio, which his father, Romanus Lyngdoh, founded to support Shane’s dream of becoming a musician. And, he, since a three-year-old toddler, has been making the most of it.

“I dream of making an empire of what I have been given by my father. I dream of making my music top of the billboard charts one day,” says the 26-year-old, adding that anybody can achieve anything in this world and all one needs to do that is a little push.

“And when you’re given that push, you reach for the stars. Don’t settle for any less,’’ he adds.
