TURA, Feb 21: Commuters coming in or leaving Tura on Wednesday morning had a harrowing time after getting stuck in traffic jams stretching miles after a 14 wheeler truck got bogged down in mud near the Inter state Bus Terminus area of Chasingre area where road expansion works were underway.
A late night spell of rain on Tuesday had added to the problem as wet soil from the road expansion made it chaotic for commuters to navigate their vehicles.
Traffic police teams had a trying time directing traffic in the area and many commuters, unable to bear the long wait, tried to use alternate routes in nearby villages only to face similar problems in view of the narrow roads and the high number of vehicles trying to get away.
