AGARTALA:

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, on March 2, said that the Tripura State Rifle (TSR) has set a benchmark in taming down terrorism in the state.

The TSR was formed during the 1980s insurgency. Presently, there are 11 Battalions of TSR in the state, out of which 9 Battalions are India Reserve (IR).

The chief minister lauded the TSR during his visit to the 12th Battalion headquarters in Chakmaghat under Khowai district.

The chief minister also said that the government keeps track of the grievances the jawans are facing and is sincere towards solving them.

“The jawans are performing their duty dedicatedly even in civil duties,” Deb said, calling upon the jawans to stay involved in further public welfare-related activities.
