Tripura CM displeased with delayed work on Light House Project

On August 6, the Prime Minister will ask for a report regarding the matter, informed the chief minister.

AGARTALA:

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, on August 1, expressed his displeasure over the slow pace of work being carried out on the Light House Project.

Saha, who visited the Border Gol Chakkar area near the Agartala-Akhura integrated check post where 1000 flats are being constructed under the Light House project, directed officials and workers to complete the project within the stipulated time.

“I came here to inspect the work and received information that the work is getting delayed. We discussed the matter with the concerning officials, and I have directed them to work in a mission mode and speed things up,” Saha told reporters.

“For the middle class and poor people, 1000 flats are being constructed here and I came to review the work. I have directed them to complete the work as soon as possible, as I have to speak about the project and its progress during my meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” Saha added.

The Light House Project had been inaugurated by the Prime Minister on January 1, 2021.

“This is a dream project of Modi and by any means, I hope they will be able to complete the work on time. More than 900 people have paid an advance for the flats, which are being built using technology from New Zealand. These flats will solve the accommodation problem of people from humble backgrounds,” he explained.

Expressing his displeasure over the status of the work being done at the site, he questioned why the project is getting delayed in Tripura when in Chennai, it is complete.

“I have observed some loopholes and have directed the officials to complete the work as soon as possible. On August 6, the Prime Minister will ask for a report regarding the matter,” he added.
