Tripura set to get AIIMS

AGARTALA:

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, on August 27, announced that the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will be set up in the state soon.

Saha made the announcement while inaugurating the 17th foundation day of Tripura Medical College and BR Ambedkar Teaching Hospital.

“Initiatives have been taken to set up AIIMS in the state. The facility will boost the health infrastructure in the state, and it will facilitate better medical studies and better treatment,” the CM said.

“This medical college will have advanced infrastructure, experienced doctors offer better medical services, and other modern facilities,” Saha added.

It may be mentioned that Saha has served as a professor of the Dental department at Tripura Medical College and BR Ambedkar Teaching Hospital.

Stating that medical students should not only study and doctors should not only serve patients, Saha said, “You have to work for society too. Only then will it be possible to build a better Tripura.”
