Tura violence pre-planned, conspirators will not be spared: DGP

Director General of Police (DGP), L R Bishnoi informed that police have seized substantial number of incriminating materials from the place of occurrence, indicating that the whole incident was pre planned, and there was a conspiracy to attach chief minister, and cause physical damage to him.

Director General of Police (DGP), L R Bishnoi, on July 25, informed that the attack on chief minister’s meeting with ACHIK leaders at CMO Tura on July 24 was pre-planned and the conspirators will not be spared.

“The persons or groups involved in creating violence at CMO Tura have been identified and they will soon be behind the bars,” Bishnoi said.

He informed that extra forces have been deployed to arrest the conspirators, and also monitor the law-and-order situation in the area.

Bishnoi said that the situation is under control, and the CRPF and Meghalaya police are taking stock of the situation, and conducting raid at various places to nab the culprits.

He further informed that cases have been registered under various section of IPC, including the Meghalaya Meinatence Public Order Act, 2010, and Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.

He also informed that police have seized substantial number of incriminating materials from the place of occurrence, indicating that the whole incident was pre planned, and there was a conspiracy to attack chief minister, and cause physical damage to him.

“So far we have seized weapons such as bamboo sticks, and other materials, including a vehicle full of kerosene oil,” the DGP said.
