NONGPOH:
The Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) of Ri Bhoi Police, on April 11, detained two persons involved in smuggling marijuana meant to be suppled from Silchar to Guwahati.
The ANTF swung into action based on a tip-off about illegal contraband being supplied from Silchar to Guwahati via Shillong on a tourist vehicle, and accordingly intercepted the bus bearing registration number AS24 C9855 at 8: 30 am.
Later a search was conducted in presence of independent witnesses, and seven packets containing 8.6 kg of marijuana were seized from two persons identified as Rohit Raj Pandey (22) and Bipul Kumar (19) both hailing from Patna, Bihar.
The above-mentioned persons were detained and a criminal case against them will be taken up as per the NDPS Act.
