DIMAPUR:
The Mokokchung police in a joint operation with the Dimapur police arrested two National Socialist Council of Nagaland – Nikki faction (NSCN-N) cadres for trying to extort money from a JCB owner, on March 5.
The accused, identified as Wapang Imchen and Mayiwapang Aier, are self-styled Nikki ‘tatar’ (member of NSCN-N parliament) and ‘leacy’ (soldier), respectively.
Also seized from their possession was a .32 pistol, along with seven live rounds.
Based on a complaint, the police began investigation into the matter and found out that the accused had robbed the keys of a JCB. Accordingly, a case was registered at Changtongya police station in the district.
