SHILLONG:

Deputy Chief Minister in-charge PWD (Roads) Prestone Tynsong has sought a report with regard to the National Highway (NH) 6.

Tynsong told reporters that the Saipung-Sutnga legislator Santa Mary Shylla, chief engineer of the department along with NHAI officials had recently conducted an inspection of the entire stretch (at Malidor area) and had submitted a preliminary report on the condition of the road.

“The detailed report will reach my table very soon, maybe by next week,” he said.

Tynsong, however, said that from what he could understand, immediate attention of the NHAI as well as the Ministry of Road Transport is so important to attend to the damages along the NH-6.

“…not only that, the portion where it is not safe be it the bridge or the portion of the road also needed to be responded to very quickly and positively by the NHAI,” he added.
