SHILLONG:
The United Democratic Party (UDP) West Jaintia Hills district has approved the new office bearers of the party’s Nartiang Circle.
This was decided in a meeting held at Namdong village in the presence of West Jaintia Hills president and former Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) chief executive member (CEM) Moonlight Pariat, and general secretary Kitboklang Nongtdu.
While member of district council of Khanduli constituency, Dawan Lyngdoh will take charge as the president, the other functionaries include Karlic Siangshai (vice president), Katbanbiang Lamare (general secretary), Shining Star Thubru (assistant general secretary) and three advisers – L Lyngdoh, C Thubru and L Siangshai.
The meeting also elected new office bearers of the youth wing. While Rishot Thubru will be the new president, Raplang Phira will take charge as the vice president. Other members include Leading Star Timung (general secretary), Grecorius Pyrtuh (assistant general secretary), Peter Dkhar (publicity secretary), and Dashem War (organising secretary).
