UDP’s Jirang candidate’s vehicle damaged in Assam stone pelting

The incident occurred at around 8 pm when Badhok Nongmalieh was returning from his public meeting at Mawsmai village, 11 Mile.

NONGPOH:

The vehicle of UDP’s Jirang constituency candidate Badhok Nongmalieh and a tourist vehicle were partially damaged in stone pelting by unknown miscreants on November 26 evening near Jorabat police outpost in Assam.

Both the vehicles have Meghalaya registration numbers.

The incident occurred at around 8 pm when Nongmalieh was returning from his public meeting at Mawsmai village, 11 Mile.  However, on reaching near Jorabat Assam Police outpost, his vehicle was pelted with stones by the miscreants, who immediately fled from the spot, leaving the rear windshield damaged.

Speaking to media persons, Nongmalieh condemned the miscreants and alleged that they are taking advantage of the Mukroh firing incident by Assam Police in which six persons, including an Assam forest guard, died.

Nongmalieh demanded that the Meghalaya and Assam governments resolve the matter at the earliest so that such incidents, which create fear and panic among the public, are not repeated.
