A total of 99 students were recognised during a function held at the Central Auditorium of the university on April 8.

The university under its aforementioned police, returns the fees of the students who qualify for NET, GATE, SLET, IAS or any other top-level competitive examinations conducted by Central and state governments.

The main objective of the ceremony was to create competitiveness among the students, and encourage them to clear these examinations through such initiatives.

The university also offers special coaching and guidance facilities to the aspirants who want to take up such competitive examinations.

Dharma Kanta Mili, director of Assam higher education, graced the occasion as the chief guest, while Arpit Upadhyay, deputy commissioner, Ri-Bhoi district, was the guest of honour at the felicitation ceremony attended by 3000 students.

Addressing a gathering, Dharma Kanta Mili said, “I am glad to know that USTM now has been accredited with an ‘A’ grade by NAAC, which is encouraging and shows that the university mission of becoming a world-class university by 2030 is appreciable”.
