NONGPOH:
In an unfortunate incident, a light vehicle loaded with firecrackers caught fire on December 29 in the busiest part of Nongpoh.
As per information received, the incident had taken place when the owner of the van, Meshan Nongrum, was selling firecrackers to some people. The customers wanted to test some of the crackers before purchasing them, and unfortunately some sparks flew into the van loaded with firecrackers and started a fire.
The incident happened around 5:30 pm in the busy market place of Nongpoh, and luckily nobody was injured.
Though the fire was big, it was doused with the help of onlookers.
