Voting for the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly elections 2023 kick started in Meghalaya at 7 am on February 27.

People are out and about since 5:30 am waiting in queues to cast their vote all over the state.

Here are a few visuals depicting voters exercising their franchise.

Apart from people from various districts, candidates from various parties have also cast their votes.

National People’s Party (NPP) candidate Ampareen Lyngdoh was among the early voters who cast their votes and received a memento.

Bharatiya Janata Party candidate AL Hek casts his vote at Pynthorumkhrah.

National People’s Party (NPP) candidate from Jowai, Wailadmiki Shylla was another early voter and he also received a memento after casting his vote.

Speaking to media persons after casting his vote, Pathaw hoped that people vote for a brighter future for the Mawlai constituency, even as he called upon electorates to come out in large numbers to exercise their franchise.
