Voice of the People Party (VPP) spokesperson Batskhem Myrboh, on August 28 informed that the party has an edge in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections as it has been able to make big inroads in both Khasi and Jaintia Hills regions.
“The VPP is a party with a difference, the rise of the party post Meghalaya elections is different from other parties, and given the fact that the party has been accepted by the people, we are positive about the party doing well,” Myrboh told media persons.
In a runup to the polls, Myrboh said that the party is touring different regions and creating awareness among the people about the issues in the state and the principles of the party.
Asked if MLAs from Congress or TMC have approached the party, Myrboh said that the VPP does not encourage defection, and the party needs fresh people.
“We don’t expect others to send fillers to us. We are not interested also to welcome them except for one or two where the cases are exceptionally different.
