SHILLONG:
Voice of the People Party (VPP) candidate from Nonkrem Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit filed his nomination for the upcoming assembly polls at the Deputy Commissioner’s office on February 4.
Briefing media persons after filing his nominations, Basaiawmoit said that the party has worked hard to enlighten the people on the need to bring about a change, with the hope that VPP is voted to power, and bring about the much-needed change.
Sidelining the notion of money power and dynasty politics, which has dominated the election process, Basaiawmoit stated, “If we subscribe to the idea of dynasty politics and money power, we would not have launched the VPP party.”
He further stated that some of the party’s objectives are to improve the health and education sectors.
