Pastor Reuben G Laloo of the Laitumkhrah Presbyterian Church, who is one the Church elders who were harassed by miscreants while on a church mission in Bihar, has taken to the social media platform – WhatsApp to update his status, informing the general public about their well-being.
Two elder members of Laitumkhrah Presbyterian Church – Pastor Reuben G Laloo and Tymmenbasan T Nongkhlaw, were reportedly harassed by miscreants while they were on their way to the church mission field to meet missionaries in Bihar on April 11.
As per his status, Pastor Laloo said, “… Rest assured we are all well by God’s grace. Returning home tonight.”
According to sources, the duo faced public rage and was later taken to a local police station. Amid the outcry, the matter is being taken up with Bihar authorities following the intervention of Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma.
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma took to the microblogging site and wrote, “Condemn the incident in Bihar where our elders from Presbyterian Church were manhandled by miscreants. Instructed Meg police to be in touch with Bihar police who are helping our elders, their statements are being taken to file fir against those miscreants. @officecmbihar(sic).”
