SHILLONG:
National President of the National People’s Party (NPP) Conrad K Sangma, on March 3, said they already have the required numbers to form the government.
Earlier, two newly-elected MLAs of the Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) and two independent MLAs have extended their support to the NPP to form the government.
The four of them submitted their letter of support to NPP chief Conrad Sangma and Nartiang MLA Sniawbhalang Dhar in Shillong today.
The two HSPDP MLAs include – Methodius Dkhar and Shakliar Warjri while the two Independent MLAs are Remington Gabil Momin and Kartush R Marak.
With their joining, the NPP camp has 32 MLAs – 26 NPP, 2 BJP, 2 HSPDP and 2 independents.
This development has put the UDP-AITC camp in a disadvantageous position because without the support of the HSPDP and independent MLAs, they will not be able to cross the mark.
