WKH contingent gears up for 5th Meghalaya Games departure

A total of 183 athletes, representing 11 disciplines, will compete in the upcoming Games.

The Coordination Committee of West Khasi Hills Association for 5th Meghalaya Games 2024, along with the athletes and officials, gathered at the Trysem Hall in the DC office today to participate in a farewell program before their departure for the 5th Meghalaya Games 2024 in Tura.

A total of 183 athletes, representing 11 disciplines, will compete in the upcoming Games.

Dr L. L. Mawsor, Convener from WKH, chaired the programme, which aimed to bless and motivate the participating athletes. The event saw an enthusiastic turnout of young sportspersons eager to compete in various disciplines.

“We are thrilled by the active participation of our youth in these games,” remarked Mawsor, expressing hopes for the continued growth and evolution of the Meghalaya Games.

G.J.L. Sangriang, Chef De-Mission briefed the participants on advisories provided by the Meghalaya State Olympics Association (MSOA), while Deputy Commissioner Garod LSN Dykes offered his blessings and wished the athletes success in their endeavours.

Several leaders and members from various sport associations, including basketball, football, volleyball, badminton, boxing, cycling, etc graced the event alongside enthusiastic athletes ready to bring glory to West Khasi Hills at the games.

With fervent support and high spirits, the West Khasi Hills contingent embarks on their journey to Tura, fueled by the hope of achieving greatness in the upcoming Meghalaya Games.
