2 Burmese pythons seized by Assam Rifles in Mizoram

The operation had been carried out by a team of 8 Assam Rifles after receiving specific information about the reptiles.

AIZAWL:

There seems to be no end to the smuggling of exotic animals in the country, with the Serchhip Battalion of Assam Rifles recovering two Burmese pythons near Myanmar border in Champhai district, on July 11.

The operation had been carried out by a team of 8 Assam Rifles after receiving specific information about the reptiles.

On May 26, the Mizoram Police, along with wildlife department officials, had seized 468 exotic animals, the largest such haul of species, smuggled in from the adjoining Myanmar.
