27 Meghalaya citizens stranded in Bethlehem amidst Israel-Palestine conflict

The pilgrims, on their journey to the holy land, were caught amidst the increasing turmoil in the region, with Israel and Palestine experiencing heightened tensions.

SHILLONG:

The State government is coordinating with the Ministry of External Affairs in facilitating the return of 27 citizens from Meghalaya, who travelled on a holy pilgrimage to Jerusalem and have been stranded in Bethlehem amidst escalating tensions between Israel and Palestine.

Confirming this via his social Media account, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said, “I am in constant communication with the Ministry of External Affairs, working tirelessly to ensure the safe return of our fellow Meghalayans from Bethlehem.”

The pilgrims, on their journey to the holy land, were caught amidst the increasing turmoil in the region, with Israel and Palestine experiencing heightened tensions.

Stating that their safety and well-being are of paramount concern, Chief Minister Sangma has assured the families and loved ones of the stranded pilgrims that every possible effort is being made to secure their safe passage back home.

Meanwhile, the government is closely monitoring the situation and will continue to provide updates as developments unfold.

The people of Meghalaya and the nation at large are hoping for a swift and safe resolution to the current crisis, allowing the pilgrims to return home to their families and loved ones.
