A 12-year-old girl from Haulawng village in Lunglei district passed away due to Covid-19 on April 3, a day after she was tested positive for the virus.
Christy Lalchhanhimi breathed her last at 1 am on Sunday at Lunglei Dedicated Covid Health Centres (DCHC) where she was admitted due to the viral infection, on April 1, an official statement issued by the state immunisation officer’s office, said, Lalchhanhimi is the only Covid fatality in the state in the last 24 hours.
The recovery rate among patients in the state stood is at 99.30 per cent and the death rate is 0.30 per cent.
According to state immunisation officer, Lalmuanawma Jongte, over 8.29 lakh people have been inoculated till April 1 and 6.70 lakh of them have received the full dose.
