Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Pynthorumkhrah AL Hek cast his vote at Pynthorumkhrah today morning. Hek is among the first few candidates who have already exercised their franchise.
Speaking to media persons after casting his vote, Hek exuded confidence in BJP forming the government in Meghalaya. “We had fielded candidates in 60 seats and we are expecting Meghalaya to have a BJP-led government, without any doubt,” he said.
“We have worked very hard and God will help our state get better leaders (sic),” he added.
Furthermore, he stated that in the past few months, BJP supporters are receiving threats, adding that for the past many years, ever since he represented the constituency, he has never indulged in such mischievous acts. “We have never threatened anyone, but there are some in my constituency – in my locality, who have been threatening my people,” he claimed.
