Ampareen Lyngdoh calls for NEIGRIHMS director’s report on alleged negligence

According to testimonies from friends of the youth, identified as Suraj Prasad Gupta, who was admitted to NEIGRIHMS, they repeatedly sought assistance from a doctor for their friend, but their pleas went unanswered, leading to the untimely death of Gupta.

After a youth allegedly lost his life to doctor’s negligence in North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health & Medical Sciences Institute (NEIGRIHMS) on July 23, health Minister, Ampareen Lyngodh, took to her social media platforms to address the situation and stated that she has requested a formal report about the incident from the institute’s director.

In her statement, the Health Minister said, “I am aware of an allegation of improper treatment of an accident victim at North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS). In this regard, I will ask for a formal report from the institute’s director today.”
