Shillong:
The Khasi Students’ Union Mawryngkneng Circle has appealed to the state government to come up with a fire service station in the village.
In a statement issued here, the union stated that the matter has been apprised from time to time so as to better handle issues of forest wildfires and other fire incidents.
The union stated that on May 6 at around 2:30 pm, a house at Puriang caught fire which led to the injury of one person though there were no casualties. The reason behind the fire is unknown.
The union stated that there were two separate incidents of homes that caught fire recently and stressed that having a fire service station is the need of the hour.
