Ardent refuses to be part of Committee on Reservation Roster

It may be mentioned that the committee, to be headed by cabinet minister Ampareen Lyngdoh, comprises of members from all the political parties of the state.

SHILLONG:

Voice of the People Party (VPP) president Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit has refused to be part of the committee constituted by the state government to discuss and deliberates issues pertaining to the Reservation Roster System.

Disclosing this information, VPP leader Ricky Syngkon told reporters on May 27 that the decision to stay away from this committee was because of the simple reason that the question of discussing about the roster does not arise because the party’s stand was very clear and that was the urgent need to review the Reservation Policy.

It may be mentioned that the committee, to be headed by cabinet minister Ampareen Lyngdoh, comprises of members from all the political parties of the state.

These included — Zenith Sangma from AITC, HM Shangpliang from BJP, Augustine Marak of GNC, Methodius Dkhar of HSPDP, Ronnie V Lyngdoh of INC, Pyndapborthiaw Saibon of KHNAM, Dr WR Kharlukhi of NPP, Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar of UDP and Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit of VPP.

Meghalaya Chief Secretary, the Commissioner and Secretary of Personnel & AR (B) Department will sit in the panel as member secretary.
