SHILLONG:
Supporters from across the Khasi Hills region of Meghalaya like Ri Bhoi, West Khasi Hills and East Khasi Hills reached the parking lot near the Additional Secretariat in Shillong, where Voice of the People Party (VPP) president Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit is staging an indefinite hunger strike since May 23, demanding a review of the State Reservation Policy.
People, representing different unions and students’ bodies from across the region thronged the venue to extend their support to the VPP leader.
These included — Meghalaya Government Lower Primary School Contractual Teachers’ Association (MGLPSCTA), Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) Mawthadriashan, Confederation of Ri Bhoi People, supporters from West Khasi Hills among others.
