SHILLONG:
The Assam Police is stopping all Meghalaya bound vehicles coming from Assam, including tourist vehicles at Jorabat in view of the firing incident along the Assam-Meghalaya border which left four people dead at Mukroh village in West Jaintia Hills on November 22.
Police said that the steps have been taken for public safety so that no untoward incidents are reported, and the public are safe.
According to the Police, all tourist cabs are being stopped and the directions will remain in place until further notice.
Meanwhile, tourist cab drivers said that if this continues it will affect their earnings.
They said that the Meghalaya and Assam Governments should take necessary action so that it will not affect common people.
